The Public Beta should be available in 3-4 weeks, followed by a February 2007 RTM release.

February 2007 RTM? Where did you get that from? The target is for RTM some time in October or November. Volume License customers should receive it in November, while consumers will get it sometime in January. -- Andre Extended64 | http://www.extended64.com Blog | http://www.extended64.com/blogs/andre http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta "Kevin John Panzke" wrote in message

By that you mean perhaps the fols like me, a Windows Feedback Panel who was invited, and who signed up to test beta 2, correct?
Andre, I'm curious is that which I'll be mailed on the DVD likely to be a different release than you folks can download now...?

I think its for folks who signed up a few months ago on Microsofts Technet Site, but the beta should be available for the general public to test, so, its not like you will be outcast.

True, but RTM is in November - general release is in January 2007, so we'll be able to walk into the local computer shop and buy a copy then :o)

Oh so that means I can buy an OEM copy of VISTA before I can buy a retail copy, but all this is hopefully moot as I have the Operating Systems version of MSDN. "Zack Whittaker" wrote in message

Although it arguably could have been Freudian, an important point as to my typo "fols". I did indeed intend "folks", not "fools" ;-)

Not necessarily, OEMs will receive the software along with Volume License customers, but you won't be able to acquire it with new hardware until January. Please note, the consumer delay is at the request of the OEMs, not entirely Microsoft's decision. -- -- Andre Windows Connected | http://www.windowsconnected.com Extended64 | http://www.extended64.com Blog | http://www.extended64.com/blogs/andre http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta
